Ok, I'll admit, that was a cheesy title, but I couldn't think of anything better. Don't worry though, these potatos taste amazing and make up for the lame name. And the best part? They're super easy and they're cooked in beer.
What more could you ask for?
Thyme for Beer PotatoesSource: Adapted from Martha Stewart
Printable Recipe
Ingredients12 ounces beer
1 pound red potatos, scrubbed clean and quartered
1-2 teaspoons fresh thyme
1 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
sprinkle salt
heavy shake of pepper
water
Directions:Bring just enough water to cover the potatos to a boil. Once the water is boiling, add in the potatos and the bottle of beer. Boil until tender.
Drain the potatos and toss with salt, pepper, rosemary, and thyme.
These sound amazing! My only question is when do I add the beer? I've gotta try these!
ReplyDeleteThanks for pointing that out! :) I have edited the recipe to include using the beer. You could always just drink it too! ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is kind of a lame question, but what do they taste like? Do they taste like the beer, or does the beer just help with the cooking?
ReplyDeleteNot a lame question at all, Ashley. The beer adds some flavor during the cooking, but they don't actually taste like beer. It just gives the potatoes a bit more tang, but they taste like thyme, salt and pepper, really. :)
